Job Description/Responsibilities

A prominent credit union in Jamaica is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Under the guidance of the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for planning, leading, and directing the credit union’s operations. Key Responsibilities Include: 1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and strategies to meet the credit union’s goals and objectives. 2. Financial Management: Oversee the financial reporting, control systems, and risk management practices to ensure the credit union’s financial stability, growth, and profitability. 3. Organizational Infrastructure: Establish and maintain an effective organizational structure that supports the achievement of the credit union’s strategic objectives. 4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with credit union operations and transactions, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place. 5. Governance and Compliance: Ensure that all policies, processes, and codes of conduct are compliant with regulatory requirements and aligned with the credit union’s values and objectives. 6. Stakeholder Communication: Provide the Board of Directors with timely and accurate information on the credit union’s financial position, performance, and growth prospects. 7. Customer Experience: Promote and ensure the delivery of high-quality service to members, enhancing member satisfaction and loyalty. 8. Public Relations and Networking: Represent the credit union at business and professional events, fostering relationships that enhance the organization’s public image and promote its interests.

Job Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field. • A minimum of seven (7) years of proven industry experience in a senior management role within the financial services sector. • Demonstrated experience in funding and credit facility negotiations, credit management, risk management, and financial management. • Extensive experience in the financial market. • Strong knowledge of foreign exchange markets, investment portfolio management, and money and capital markets. • Proficiency in project evaluation, risk analysis, and credit management. • In-depth understanding of economic trends, financial risk management, and operational principles of the Credit Union Movement. • Knowledge of relevant computer applications. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment and develop talent. • Excellent business acumen to drive data-driven decision-making and analyze market trends. • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively lead through change. • Strong customer relations and communication skills.
